The test setup:
Lexar Professional UDMA CompactFlash 300x Speed 8GB, CF8GB-300-386
Hama 55352 CF FireWire reader, Oxford FW 912 controller
TI TSB82AA2/TSB81BA3 FireWire, TI OHCI 1394 Driver
Read/Write directly from/to the media, no filesystem involved
Read/Write rates taken with a sample size of 4MB, 1908 samples
The test showed an average trasfer rate of
41.82MB/s (285x) read and
38.07MB/s (259x) write.
Please note that my current FireWire host/driver setup
seems to be maxed out
around 38-39MB/s write rate. As the results with the CF-SATA
adapter show, the card can write faster.
